Accurate planning starts with precise input – and that’s exactly what the latest feature in the Data+ Suite delivers. The new Slider Input allows users to select numeric values directly in the Qlik frontend, within a defined range, using a clean and intuitive interface.
In our latest tutorial, we walk through a practical use case: assigning a discount percentage to individual sales positions using a slider ranging from 0% to 5%, with adjustable steps.
What’s new?
The Slider Input is a new input type in the Data+ Table. It lets users enter numeric values by simply sliding between a minimum and maximum – perfect for use cases like discounts, ratings, weights, quantities, or anything that benefits from controlled numerical input.
What you’ll learn in the tutorial:
How to create a new column directly from the edit mode (no need to switch to the management interface)
How to define value range and step size
How to bind the slider to your table and save inputs
Why it's important to remember that Data+ stores values as text, and where conversion may be necessary for calculations
Why Slider matters
Many Qlik apps still operate in a read-only, dashboard-centric mode. But if you're aiming to support planning, decision-making, or collaboration directly in your frontend, you need more than charts and filters. You need meaningful input elements.
The Slider is another example of how Data+ transforms Qlik from a reporting tool into an interactive business application platform – without scripting, without external tools, and fully integrated.
Or explore the Data+ Tutorial Playlist to dive deeper into what’s possible with the suite.
Want to try the slider input yourself or discuss use cases for your team?
We’re happy to help you bring more interaction to your Qlik apps.
